Die ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius
The German Historical Institute (GHI) is pleased to acknowledge the
support of the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, Hamburg.
Dr. Gerd Bucerius (1906-1995) was an accomplished lawyer, politician,
journalist, and publisher. In 1946, he founded Die Zeit, one of Germany's
leading weekly newspapers. In 1971, Bucerius established the foundation
bearing his name and that of his wife.
The ZEIT-Stiftung seeks to promote knowledge, enrich cultural heritage, and create new opportunities. To this end, it sponsors numerous world-wide initiatives in support of research and scholarship, art and culture, and education and training.
