The Bildarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz
Founded in 1966, the Bildarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz
(the Visual Archive of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation)
holds more than 12 million images documenting the history of mankind
from its beginnings to the present day. The archive also oversees
the rights to reproduce materials from the collections of the Berlin
State Museums and other institutions administered by the Stiftung
Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation).
Working in partnership with the German Historical Institute, the
Bildarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesitz (bpk) granted permission
for hundreds of images to be included in the GHDI website. Unless
otherwise noted, all images appearing on this site website belong
to the bpk. These images are strictly intended for individual, educational
use.
More information on the bpk can be found on its website at http://bpkgate.picturemaxx.com/webgate_cms/.
