Thousand-Mark Stock Certificate (September 1, 1885)

Not unlike similar documents today, the printed ornamentation on this thousand-mark stock certificate for the Schultheiss Brewery was intended both to discourage counterfeiters and to instill confidence in anyone wealthy enough to afford such a large investment.
